Behind the Scenes

We are about to celebrate our “half” birthday!  Six months of publication of Writers Who Care has brought voices of parents, teachers, and professors together to advocate for authentic writing instruction.  But have you wondered how it all started?

If you would like to know more about the beginnings of this blog, our purposes for writing, our processes for publication, and our belief in a new kind of peer review, please read the article by members of our editorial team, “Writers Who Care: Advocacy Blogging as Teachers-Professors-Parents.”

We are grateful to Jonathan Bush and Erinn Bentley, co-editors of Teaching/Writing: Journal of Writing Teacher Education, for the work they do and for publishing this piece.
